  • Being Human--Losing, Living and Carrying Forward

Do any of these sound like you?
The Focusing modality could bring insight and life-forward energy to these kinds of situations:

* You’re in the midst of a transition, possibly a divorce, serious illness,  considering a job change or a move, or maybe exploring your spirituality or creativity in new ways. The ground beneath you is shifting.
* You’re stuck. You want to write, clean out that closet, lose some weight, go to that new group, call a friend you’ve been out of touch with. You really want to do this……and  yet…. You  don’t.
*You  have a sense that there is more to life, that you could be living life more fully. It’s still a fuzzy feeling, unclear, and yet it’s really there.  You usually try to ignore it and convince yourself that everyone feels this once  in a while. It’ll pass. Still…you really do know there is a way to feel more  alive, a way to feel differently about your life and future.
* You are on fire with creative ideas these days! The energy is flowing,  you are actively engaged in your creative process AND you
could use more clarity to bring your projects/work to fulfillment.
*You think of yourself as a deeply spiritual person. Maybe the religion of your childhood doesn’t seem to fit anymore, but so far you haven’t really found a faith system or group that is really “you." Sometimes you wonder what you really do believe, and long for a way to be more intentional with your own spirituality.

If any of the above sound like you, I’d love to be a part of your life-forward process, using a Focusing approach. Clients I work with are ready for change in their lives and wanting to find clarity to bring that about.

From a Buddhist perspective,  it’s an absolute certainty that we all face change—it’s the nature of the  Universe! Examining what really matters to us gives us a touchstone to anchor and guide our many decisions.
Clients who are successful working with me develop the trust that they can access their own inner clarity.  Although it’s not necessary to begin this work, many of my clients have an interest or experience with meditation or Focusing. Focusing is a process developed by Eugene Gendlin that helps us pay attention to our inner knowing.

“What is split off, not felt, remains the same. When it is felt, it changes. Most people don't know this. They think that by not permitting the feeling of their negative ways they make themselves good. On the contrary, that keeps these negatives static,  the same from year to year. A few moments of feeling it in
your body allows it to change. "

Eugene Gendlin,  Ph.D., originator of  Focusing

"Your physically felt body is in  fact part of a gigantic system of here and other places, now and other times,  you and other people-- in fact, the whole universe. This sense of being bodily  alive in a vast system is the body as it is felt from the  inside."
Eugene Gendlin,  Ph. D
